Description
I am an experienced Mathematics tutor and educational content developer with over 9 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have supported learners from primary and secondary school through university level, providing both one-to-one and group tutoring as well as online tuition and examination preparation.
My main subject is Mathematics, and I offer tutoring for 11+, primary and secondary Mathematics, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and entrance examinations. I also have experience supporting students with challenging topics by breaking complex problems into clear, manageable steps and using worked examples and guided practice to develop genuine understanding.
My tutoring approach is patient, supportive and tailored to each student. I recognise that students learn at different speeds and in different ways, so I first identify areas of difficulty before adapting the lesson accordingly. Rather than simply providing answers, I encourage students to explain their reasoning and work through problems themselves. This helps identify gaps in understanding while developing confidence, accuracy and independent problem-solving skills.
For examination preparation, I focus on both subject knowledge and exam technique. Lessons can include topic revision, targeted practice, exam-style questions, worked solutions and strategies for approaching unfamiliar problems. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
Alongside tutoring, I have professional experience in Mathematics content development. At GradelyNG, I developed Mathematics questions and learning content for JSS3 and SSS1 students and provided online tutoring through Zoom. I also created scripts and presentation slides for Mathematics video lessons and reviewed educational content for mathematical accuracy. At Tuteria, I worked as a Mathematics Subject Matter Expert, developing questions and worked solutions for 11+, entrance examinations, Checkpoints, IGCSE and SATs.
My academic background includes an MSc in Actuarial Science and a BSc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, giving me a strong foundation in Mathematics, statistics, probability, calculus and quantitative problem-solving.
My goal is not simply to help students complete their homework or prepare for the next test. I want students to understand why mathematical methods work, become more confident when facing unfamiliar questions, and develop the skills to approach problems independently.
